Donna Marie Dollyhigh

Donna grew up in Upstate, NY, and moved to Texas in 1982. She has  always enjoyed creating virtually any type of art using vibrant colors and unique designs.  The medium she uses is acrylic and metallic paint.

Donna is basically self-taught and has learned from classes for design, acrylic, oils, watercolors, fluid art painting using alcohol ink and acrylic pour painting, jewelry making, and photography. She has always been inspired by other artists’ beautiful artwork and is a lifetime student exploring new techniques that others share online.

Nine years ago, Donna retired from an industrial sales career which has enabled her the time to pursue her love of art.  When she and her husband, Danny, lived on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, the beautiful tropical nature inspired Donna to find her niche art which Donna named, “Fish Fan-T-Sea”.  She creates 3D art “fish” with names and personalities from recycled Coconut Palm Tree Spaeth Bowls that fall off the trees after their job of protecting the coconuts is complete.

Each “fish” is created with a unique design, a sea urchin eyeball, colors, size and shape – no two are alike. with some up to 5 feet long. Donna's most recent art project was painting floral fantasy murals on her greenhouse walls in December, 2024. Donna will create art pieces specifically for you - contact her via email about commissions!
