Arlene Anderson enhances the beauty of the natural form of hard-shell gourds by means of pyrography and sculpting. Every gourd is carefully selected for it's durability and natural form that best expresses her unique, artistic designs. Each pieceis signed and finished with a protective coating.
Arlene has been featured as artist of the month in"Cowboys & Indians" magazine, Cloudcroft's artist of the month, and her work has been chosen by the Visual Art Society of Texas to be displayed at the Annual National Exhibit. She recently won the Silver Award, at the 2015 49th Annual NCTC Community Art Exhibit, for her Iris Gourd sculpture and Honorable Mention for her pastel painting, "Early Morning Mist". Arlene's love of nature & wildlife is seen in the subject matter in her gourd art and in her pastel paintings & drawings.
She is a member of the Wildlife Art Appreciation Group, Wild Bird Group, Pastel Society of America and the Gainesville Area Visual Art.
